Today we spent our first full day in California! We started the day off at the gymnastics competition (the Junior Olympic Trampoline and Tumbling National Competition) where Micah competed in tumbling. He took 1st place and we are all so proud of him (see the link to the video below)!! Tomorrow, he will compete in the double mini and the trampoline.
We then headed to San Francisco! We finally made it to Pier 39...but only after accidently crossing over the Bay Bridge into Oakland. Driving in San Francisco is crazy! We saw the sea lions (which I loved!) and then took the night tour of Alcatraz. It was sooo cold! But, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
After Alcatraz, we had a late dinner at the Crab House on Pier 39. Micah, Cyle, and I absolutely devoured over 3 lb of crab legs! It was great to watch the boys really enjoy digging into those crab legs : )
After dinner (about 11 pm), mom and I decided we couldn't leave San Francisco without getting a closer look at the Golden Gate Bridge. After a VERY circuitous trip through and around downtown, we FINALLY made it to the bridge (did i mention driving in San Francisco is a bit difficult?).
Here's a video of the highlights of our first day:

Good first day...we're all exhausted! Tomorrow afternoon we will be on our way to Monterey.
